History

History at Chase View Community Primary School brings the past to life, helping pupils understand the events, people, and cultures that have shaped the world we live in today. Our curriculum aims to foster a love of history and develop critical thinking skills.

Pupils explore a wide range of historical periods and themes, from ancient civilisations to significant moments in British and global history. We encourage them to question, analyse, and interpret evidence, building their ability to think like historians.

Our lessons go beyond textbooks, incorporating role-play, artefact handling, and visits to historical sites. These immersive experiences help pupils connect with the past in meaningful and memorable ways.

We also emphasise the relevance of history to modern life. By examining themes such as diversity, democracy, and innovation, pupils gain insights into how the past influences present-day society.

Through our history curriculum, we aim to cultivate informed, thoughtful, and reflective individuals who appreciate the value of understanding our shared human story.
