Design and Technology (DT)

Design and Technology at Chase View Community Primary School sparks innovation and practical problem-solving. Our curriculum equips pupils with the skills to design, create, and evaluate products while fostering creativity and technical expertise.

Children explore a wide range of materials, tools, and techniques, from woodworking and textiles to electronics and food technology. Each project encourages them to think critically, work collaboratively, and take pride in their achievements.

We link DT lessons to real-world contexts, helping pupils see the relevance of their learning. Whether designing a sustainable product or building a working model, pupils apply their knowledge in meaningful and practical ways.

Safety and precision are emphasised, with pupils developing an understanding of how to use tools and equipment responsibly. These experiences build confidence and resilience as pupils tackle complex challenges.

Through DT, we inspire a sense of curiosity, creativity, and capability, preparing pupils to be innovative thinkers and problem-solvers in a rapidly changing world.
