Art and Design

Art and Design at Chase View Community Primary School nurtures creativity, imagination, and self-expression, giving pupils the freedom to explore and develop their artistic potential. Our curriculum provides a rich and diverse range of opportunities for pupils to engage with the visual arts.

Children experiment with various media, techniques, and materials, from drawing and painting to sculpture and digital design. This hands-on approach encourages them to think critically and take creative risks.

Our lessons often draw inspiration from a range of artists, cultures, and movements, broadening pupils’ understanding of art’s place in the world. They also explore how art can communicate ideas, emotions, and stories.

We celebrate every child’s unique artistic voice, showcasing their work through displays, exhibitions, and community projects. These opportunities build confidence and instil a sense of pride in their achievements.

By fostering creativity and an appreciation for the arts, we help pupils develop skills such as problem-solving, collaboration, and resilience—skills that are invaluable both in school and in life.
